Jacques A. "Jack" Sidi was born October 29, 1928 in Marseille, France the son of Albert and Irene Sidi. He attended school in Lausanne, Switzerland and eventually earned a bachelor's degree from the University of Grenoble in France (1947). In 1951 he received a master's degree from Northwestern University.

During a four-year stint with the United States Air Force (1951-55) he was stationed in Casper and Casablanca, Morocco. When he completed his military service he returned to Casper and began a career as a social studies teacher at Dean Morgan Junior High School, retiring in 1986 after 31 years.

Sidi was first elected to the Wyoming House of Representatives in 1969 and eventually served 16 years in that body- the last two as Speaker of the House. He chaired the special School Finance Committee which laid the groundwork for the restructuring of Wyoming's school finance system after the Wyoming Supreme Court declared the earlier system unconstitutional in 1980. Sidi retired following the end of his term in office in 1991 and moved to Greeley. He passed away there in 2003, following a long illness

Sidi and his wife Bernadette had two children (Veronica Kasi, Michael).
