Wyoming Supreme Court 1979 - 1985

John Joseph Rooney, Sr. was born on November 30, 1915 in Chadron, Nebraska. After earning his law degree from the University of Colorado in 1940, he worked for the Federal Bureau of Investigation from 1941 to 1958. He later practiced law in Cheyenne and was a state representative, city attorney, school district attorney, and Attorney General. Rooney was appointed to the Supreme Court and served from 1979 to 1985. Afterwards, he went back into private practice. Rooney died on December 12, 1998 in Cheyenne.
