Wyoming Supreme Court 1871 - 1879
Joseph Washington Fisher was born on October 16, 1814 in Northumberland, Pennsylvania. He was a lawyer, state legislator, and Civil War veteran in Pennsylvania. On February 8, 1871, President Grant appointed him associate justice of the Wyoming Supreme Court. He resigned on December 19, 1879. He later served as United States Commissioner and practiced law in Cheyenne until 1890. Fisher died in Cheyenne on October 18, 1900.
