Leonard McEwan


Wyoming Supreme Court 1969 - 1975


Leonard McEwan was born on February 17, 1925 in Great Falls, Montana. After receiving a law degree from the University of Wyoming, he practiced law for many years in Sheridan. In addition, he was a municipal court judge, served on various boards and commissions, and was active in community affairs. McEwan was elected to the Supreme Court in 1968, becoming the youngest (42 years old) to serve in the court to that time. He resigned on January 21, 1975 to become a district court judge in the fourth judicial district. McEwan retired in 1985 and died in Sheridan on January 24, 2008.
