Wyoming Supreme Court 1906-1913, 1915-1917
Richard H. Scott was born in Minneapolis, Minnesota on September 3, 1858. After graduating from the US Naval Academy in Annapolis and serving one year in the Navy, he resigned his commission and studied law. In 1886 he moved from Minnesota to Sundance, Wyoming. He served as a district judge from 1890 to 1896, when he was appointed to the Wyoming Supreme Court in February 1906 by Governor William A. Richards to fill the vacancy of Josiah A. Van Orsdel. He was elected to the same office in November 1906, served six years and was re-elected in 1914. Scott died in office on September 26, 1917.
