Rose A. Bird Maley

Rose A. Bird Maley was born in Stevens Point, Wisconsin, in 1884; educated in the public schools of Wyoming, and graduated from the University of Wyoming in 1904.

Maley taught in the rural and grade schools of Wyoming. She was elected county superintendent of Weston County 1908-10. She was then elected State Superintendent of Public Instruction, serving from January 2, 1911 until January 4, 1915. She homesteaded under the old Home­stead Act. While living on the ranch for five years, she taught in the nearby rural schools.
