State Treasurer 1943-1947Earl Wright was born near Princeton, Kansas on September 23, 1889. His family moved to the Eden Valley in Sweetwater County in 1908. He served in World War I, was active in farming. ranching, community development and civic affairs, and was a state representative and a state senator. Wright was elected State Treasurer in 1942. After an unsuccessful bid for governor in 1946, he was state liquor commissioner. He died in December 1962 in Cheyenne.
