Wyoming Supreme Court 1921-1962
Fred Heinrich Blume was born in Audubon, Iowa on January 9, 1875. He practiced law in Iowa from 1899 to 1904, when he moved to Sheridan, Wyoming. In addition to his legal practice, he was a city attorney, a state representative and a state senator. Governor Robert D. Carey appointed him Justice of the Supreme Court on April 23, 1921 to fill the vacancy of Judge Charles Blydenburgh. He was elected to the same position in 1922 and re-elected in succeeding years until his retirement on January 1, 1963. Blume died in Cheyenne on September 26, 1971.
