Herman B. Gates

Herman B. Gates was born on January 7, 1884 in Auburn, Illinois. In 1902 he moved to Thermopolis where he was employed in the First National Bank. In 1906, he moved to Worland to work in the First National Bank of Worland. Gates was later treasurer of the Worland Land and Lot Company, mayor of Worland, and state representative. He was elected State Treasurer in 1914 and served one term. Gates died on March 1, 1939 in Denver.
