J. R. Mitchell

J.R. "Mitch" Mitchell was born in Narka, Kansas on September 28, 1891. After his arrival in Wyoming in 1910, he worked on a couple ranches, a merchandise store in Kaycee and a grocery store chain in Casper. He was elected State Representative in 1946 and 1948 and State Treasurer in 1950. He died in office on May 6, 1952. His wife, Minnie A. Mitchell, was appointed to complete his term.
